ELBRUS - 2007 EXPEDITIONS

In July - August of 2007 seven groups from Cyprus, Finland, South Africa and the USA took part in our Elbrus expeditions. Three big South African groups were collected and sent to the Caucasus by Adventure Dynamics International and Tribe Safari. Besides them Mr. Thanasis Kaishiaris (Cyprus), Mr. Marko Pausio (Finland), Mr. Andreas Andreou (Cyprus) and Mr. Ryan Rehkopf (USA) brought their own groups.

Four our mountain guides and guide-assistants - Mrs. Marina Ershova (the head mountain guide of Ersh Travels), Miss Alexandra Sak, Mr. Viktor Ershov and Mr. Alexandr Shilyaev - worked with our groups in the Caucasus. Our Moscow managers Miss Maria Shalaeva and Miss Zhenya Shalaeva served our clients in Moscow. Mr. Andrey (Bukh) Ershov worked with our groups in St. Petersburg.

More than 60 climbers and trekkers took part in our Elbrus programmes. Besides Mt. Elbrus Cypriot climbers summited several peaks in the upper part of the Adylsu Valley and trekkers of Tribe Safari did a trek along the Adylsu and Shkhelda valleys. Sometimes the weather was not very nice but proper organization of our programmes and good work of our guides allowed the most part of our clients successfully reached the summit of Mt. Elbrus (5642 m), the highest top of Europe!

Marko Pausio and Toni Pehkonen:
Our Elbrus trip was a success, good weather on the summit day, and we both got to the top. I must thank you for well organized trip, everything was well planned and going smooth. Guide Sasha was also very good, hotel was nice, and food great. All in all, we're very happy clients, thanks a lot.

Rosemary Gardner:
... all of our team was able to summit successfully on Sat 11 August '07. After we had to abort our first attempt the previous morning due to bad weather (blizzard and thunderstorm), everyone was elated that the weather held out for us on our one and only reserve day. Thanks to Marina, Sasha and also to Viktor for their leadership and encouragement for which the whole team is most grateful! Marina was an inspiration to all and I know that the bonds she forged with many of us will be treasured forever...
Thanks again Andrey, for all your support and the arrangements you put in place for Tribe's various teams. The trip was a truly memorable experience for all of us!

Wilhelm and Comien Erwee:
Thanks once again for all your help, planning, time, effort, patience, etc... it is greatly appreciated by all of us!!!!
