ST. PETERSBURG EVEREST - 2003 JUBILEE EXPEDITION
(65 days variant, Normal Route from Tibet via North Col)

This expedition is organized for the St. Petersburg Mountaineering Federation and devoted the 300-th anniversary of St. Petersburg and the 50-th anniversary of the Mt. Everest first ascent. It includes very strong and experienced climbers from Russia and other countries. Andrey Ershov (he has organized many expeditions in the Pamirs, Tien-Shan, Kun-Lun and Himalayas) is the expedition leader, Anatoly Moshnikov (he has done a lot of high-altitude climbs, one ascent of Dhaulagiri and two ascents of Mt. Cost of the programme for spring 2002: $10000 per pax

Services and expenses included in the cost of the programme:
  • Tibetan visas and all necessary formalities, fees and charges for Tibet including a peak registration fee, an administrative fee, high way and conservation charges, other obligatory fees and charges
  • Transfers airport - hotel and hotel - airport in Kathmandu, bus and truck for the transportation Kathmandu - Zangmu and back
  • Jeeps and truck for the transportation Zangmu - Nyalam - Shegar - Everest BC and back
  • Yaks for the luggage transportation BC - ABC and back: 4 yaks up and 3 yaks down per member
  • Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu (double rooms, breakfast) for 4 nights
  • Hotel accommodation and meals (FB) in Tibet: 2 nights at Zangmu, 2 nights at Nyalam, 2 nights at Shegar
  • Two dining tents (one for BC and one for ABC), kitchen and toilet tents for BC; tables and stools for BC; a mess kit, a cooking set, stoves and fuel for them for BC and ABC; camping tents with mattresses for members for BC and ABC (13 tents) and food for the meals at BC and ABC
  • A solar panel, an electrical generator and fuel for it, a hyperbaric bag and medicaments
  • Nine climbing tents for 3 altitude camps, ropes for fixed roping, rock pitons, ice screws, snow anchors, six VHF FM transceivers and minigas cartridges (20 cartridges per climber)
  • Oxygen bottles (3 bottles per climber and reserve) and oxygen masks with regulators (1 set per climber and reserve)
  • Expedition leader, climbing team leader and doctor including all necessary expenses for them
  • Two Nepalese Sherpa cooks and two kitchen boys including Tibet fee of Sherpas, equipment allowances, wages, insurance, food, lodging
